Now these, more than likely, never even got out of the shop and were probably bagged by shop staff before the public could get their hands on them, however it was supposed to be used as an extra for when you bought the game itself. The inclusion of a PlayStation sticker is a nice touch for customising your console.

Attack Of The Saucermen Keychain

This little fella comes from Attack Of The Saucermen by Pysgnosis, this promo keychain is metal and enamel and inscribed on the rear with game name and publisher.

Soul Reaver Store Display Items

Here we have some Point of Sale items for Soul Reaver by Eidos. It includes a holographic inlay (seen on some versions of the game), 2 window stickers and a cardboard standee.

Fluid DJ Slip Mats

Here we have some DJ slip mats, used on turntables to stop your vinyls slipping, promoting the game Fluid. They obviously come as a pair as DJ’s tend to use two turntables.

Spring Roadshow T-Shirt

Here we have a t-shirt made up for the Playstation Spring Roadshow, I am guessing it was either a giveaway item or something giving to those running the roadshow. If anyone has any more information on this please contact me to let me know.

Sim City 3000 Promotional Jacket

A joint effort here, with Maxis teaming with Sony to make up this promotional jacket to advertise Sim City 3000. It is a standard black bomber jacket style, with popper fastenings on the front and embroided logos.

Promotional Sheep Mouse Mat

A nice little cute promo item here from Empire to advertise the game Sheep. It is your standard foam backed mouse mat emblazened with the little sheep fella himself. One for the ladies I think you’ll agree.

This is a pack of promotional material sent out by Sony to advertise Tekken 3, The Fifth Element, Medieval and the PlayStation itself. Dressed up like a mock medical report and including X-Ray scans of the games and a persons skull it allowed people to send off for Hand Conditioners (like the above brain stress toy) and Thumb Protectors (not present). It also contains a sheet of paper detailing different hardware available from Sony including the Namco Arcade Stick, the Multi-Tap and Dual Shock controllers. It also contains a section on Shiny Entertainment’s Wild 9.

Now if you remember at the start of my marathon I posted some ‘limited editions’ that we had a hard time deciding on whether they were actually limited releases or limited editions. At that time I said I had something that might sway the arguement a little and this is it.

So what do we have here then? Well we have The Italian job game in gatefold sleeve but with a promo version disk. Now usually that would scream press review copy, however, and this is the little something I was talking about, the case has magazine review ratings and blurb upon it. Now why would a press reviewer want to know about other reviewers scores? They wouldn’t, who would want to know about how well the game had scored in reviews? Well Joe Public of course. So there you go, does this add anything to the arguement or is it just me being silly? I will leave it up to you to decide.

Anyway, tomorrow I don’t know what to post so you will have to tune in then to find out what I decide.

A set of four postcards used to advertise Fear Effect 2 Retro Helix. These are in stunning condition considering they were given out in cinemas and such like.

And finally this weird little fellow from Lady Defcon herself…

She said it was cute and that I had to buy it, so I did, all the way from the good old old USofA. A promo keychain of one of the characters from the game I believe. Looks like a cross between a frog and a walrus if you ask me but you know these women, they always get what they want. (As usual these ahve all been filed under the Other Stuff section.)

Now this comes in a rental style case. The inlays are identical to the release version bar the black Limited Edition text on the front cover. The instruction manual is the release version as well. The disc however does have the words ‘Promotional Copy Only – Not For Resale’ printed on it, however this is not your standard Sony Promo release CD.

So how would I call this one? Limited Edtions? Press Release? You know, I just don’t know. I have a hard time thinking a Press Release would have limited edition printed on the front cover like this one has, but why would it have a Promo CD in it if it was a released version? For now I have stuck it into Limited Editions, because regardless of whether it was a released limited or not it was still only made in limited numbers. If you want to discuss it I have started a thread in the forums for you to do so.

Tomorrow is Friday and that means Lucky Dip day. I will randomly choose something and whatever it is will get posted. Will it be hardware? Will it be a Limited Editions? Will it be a rarity? Will it be naked pictures of AtariBuff? I bloody well hope not!!!!

Nice aren’t they. Logo branded Nike’s. Now as I was saying not technically PS1 items, as this post over at MyAirShoes.com states.

There will be only 150 pairs released of these Sony Playstation Nike Air Force Ones. Sony will be distributing them to celebrities and VIPs to promote the release of the Playstation 3 later this year. They will run for over 2 grand and will be the rarest Air Force Ones from Nike.

However there is a shadow looming over this item and that is their legitimacy. I have no idea if they are actually real or extremely good fakes. Lets just say I didn’t run for over 2 grand on them. My research has turned up nothing as to how to check for fakage or not so unless some helpful soul can tell me of a way of finding out if they are real or not I will just have to go with undecided at the moment. Still they are very nice items, and I am happy to have them in my collection. (They have been filed under the Other Stuff section.)

Well there you go, hopefully makes up for two days of guns. Tomorrow is undecided at the moment. Might crack out another limited edition to get AtariBuff back into denial again.
