Another weird and wonderful piece of kit here, the Wild Things Magnifier allows you to magnify the display from the Wild Things LCD screen add on. Seems like a bit of a con to me that if you bought the Wild Things LCD screen and you need this thing to make it looks decent why they couldn’t sell it with the screen I don’t know.

Yes as you can see we have had a little bit of a face lift, which includes a new name. Yes gone are the days of Defconsoft vs Mint In The Box, the endless banter between AtariBuff and myself. We have decided to throw the towel in on that and put up a joint front in all things PAL PlayStation.

And that is where the Collective comes in, because together we can be a much better and educated resource. Also you have to add the knowledge of Bucky B into the mix as well, who is, along with Lady Defcon, an invaluable asset to the site.

And finally there is you guys as well, which is where the Collective really comes in. This is a site for everyone and all to have input in.

In the coming days and weeks we will be adding tonnes of new stuff, including another set of marathon updates from me, a small joint venture by AtariBuff and I, and hopefully the long awaited PAL PlayStation Online Database.

We also have something exciting coming from Lady Defcon herself that will hopefully get everyone involved in site in some way which is great news.

To that end we have looked at our assets to see what we can get rid of in order to generate some cash and unfortunatly we have decided that the PS1 collection is the only thing that we can sell and actually make enough money out of in order to cover our debts.

I am very reluctant to do this after 3 years of hardcore collecting and many more softcore collecting. I am proud of the collection Lady Defcon and I have amassed in this short time, we nearly managed to get all of the grails I wanted to get, and almost complete the standard PAL PS1 game collection. I will be vey sad to see it all go.

But it must and its all going at once. I though about splitting it up and selling it all seperately but I just do not have time at the moment to manage that kind of eBay sale so I have thrown it up as one auction. I know that this will be limited my buyers and that delivery is going to be expensive but I think that if someone is willing to buy the whole thing they they will probably be willing to hire a van and come get it all. I have put a reserve on it however to protect myself if need.

So anyway if you want an almost complete PAL PS1 collection well then please bid on my auction and allow me and the wife to actually get ourselves out of debt for a little while.

EDIT: Yes yes this was an April Fools joke. I am not selling my collection. Well not unless someone wants to buy it for fifty gazillion pounds of course. Then I might consider it.

I know I know, I have been a little quiet recently but to say I have had a little bit of a busy time recently is a massive understatement. So let me get you all caught up shall I.

As you know two weeks ago little Liam came into the world, well what should of been an easy two weeks welcoming him in and making him happy turned into an absolute nightmare last Tuesday when Lady Defcon suffered a heart attack. The cause was a tear in one of the arteries that supplied blood to her heart. Thankfully I was right with her when it happened and managed to get the emergency services here as quickly as possible. However that was just the start of the chaos, over the next couple of days she was in critical condition while they tried to repair the artery, find out how much damage had been done, and how well she was healing.

Of course through all this time I was still having to look after the kids, house, pets etc. Thankfully I received loads of help from friends and relatives who took as much off me as possible.

Then if that wasn’t enough, Xander my five year old son, decided to get himself a fever and dehydrate himself enough to also warrant a small stay in hospital. You see Xander is Autistic and cannot communicate too well, so he could not tell us where it was hurting or what was happening to him. All this combined and he made himself very unwell. Thankfully the doctors helped him out really quickly so his stay was short.

Now however things are beginning to look up. On Monday both Lady Defcon and Xander were allowed home from hospital. Xander just needed another blood test before being given the all clear and is now terrorising the house once again. Lady Defcon however is on a long road to recovery. She has been told to do absolutely nothing and to rest as much as possible, therefore me and the kids are on full housework duty. She also has to take a lot of drugs, and by a lot I mean alot. I think she is on about 12 different tablets a day which is extremely scary. It will e a little while before we know for sure how much damage was done, if any and how well she will recover. Only time will tell but I am making sure we are doing everything possible to make sure she gets the best treatment, rest and recovery.

I owe a lot of thanks to everyone that have looked after her at the various hospitals she has been in, along with those that looked after Xander. I also owe a heap of thanks to those people who have looked after me and the kids.

So yeah reality bit me really hard over the last two weeks. But now its time for me to bite back and get everything back on track. Family first, then get back into this silly little PlayStation collecting thing. I just wanted to let you guys know what had been going on.

This is my way of kicking myself up the arse and getting round to displaying my collection properly. It is also a way for my to show you all what the current state of my collection looks like as I know alot of you love to see these kinds of things, and have already seen AtariBuffs.

Conquered Worlds PlayStation Jackets

Here we have two PlayStation jackets from around the time of the ‘Conquered Worlds’ advert, judging by the picture of the kid on the label. Both are sealed and brand new

Doubt these are official however they are very nice indeed. A set of cufflinks modelled in the image of the PlayStation Controller.

A really nice Final Fantasy 8 branded wallet here, it also includes PlayStation and Square branding on the inside.

Dance UK Record Bag

A nice little bag for the girls here. Its a standard Record bag branded with the Dance UK logo in pink. I am sure it would be considered accessorising by some.

Nike Air Force 1 PlayStation

I believe these to be real but they could well be fakes, however they are still a nice addition to the collection. Some Nike Air Force 1’s with PlayStation logo branding. More information about them can be found here.

Playstation Laptop-style Bag

Another bag emblazened with the Playstation Logo, this time a laptop style bag. I would like to tell you more about it however with it still being sealed I don’t really want to try and get into it. It does however have the Playstation logo embroided on the front, and what looks like an attachment for a carrying strap.

PlayStation Wallet

Here we have a still sealed and totally brand new PlayStation Wallet. It is a black canvas wallet and has a whiote embroided logo upon it.

Sony Playstation Record Bag

This record bag, branded with the Playstation 1 logo, has a main section, a front pocket, and a pen holder at the side. The long strap extends to fit whatever size.

Sony Playstation CD Wallet

This CD Wallet, branded with the Playstation 1 logo, holds up to 14 disks and has a handy netted storage area for memory cards.

This little fella comes from Attack Of The Saucermen by Pysgnosis, this promo keychain is metal and enamel and inscribed on the rear with game name and publisher.

Soul Reaver Store Display Items

Here we have some Point of Sale items for Soul Reaver by Eidos. It includes a holographic inlay (seen on some versions of the game), 2 window stickers and a cardboard standee.

Fluid DJ Slip Mats

Here we have some DJ slip mats, used on turntables to stop your vinyls slipping, promoting the game Fluid. They obviously come as a pair as DJ’s tend to use two turntables.

Spring Roadshow T-Shirt

Here we have a t-shirt made up for the Playstation Spring Roadshow, I am guessing it was either a giveaway item or something giving to those running the roadshow. If anyone has any more information on this please contact me to let me know.

Sim City 3000 Promotional Jacket

A joint effort here, with Maxis teaming with Sony to make up this promotional jacket to advertise Sim City 3000. It is a standard black bomber jacket style, with popper fastenings on the front and embroided logos.

Promotional Sheep Mouse Mat

A nice little cute promo item here from Empire to advertise the game Sheep. It is your standard foam backed mouse mat emblazened with the little sheep fella himself. One for the ladies I think you’ll agree.

This is a pack of promotional material sent out by Sony to advertise Tekken 3, The Fifth Element, Medieval and the PlayStation itself. Dressed up like a mock medical report and including X-Ray scans of the games and a persons skull it allowed people to send off for Hand Conditioners (like the above brain stress toy) and Thumb Protectors (not present). It also contains a sheet of paper detailing different hardware available from Sony including the Namco Arcade Stick, the Multi-Tap and Dual Shock controllers. It also contains a section on Shiny Entertainment’s Wild 9.

Something I remember from the first months of the PlayStations life was this case. This was what you brought home your PlayStation in if you rented it from Blockbuster Video. It is a hard plastic case with foam inserts that allow the PlayStation and its bits to be placed inside safely. As you can see from the pictures this actually has the PlayStation it came with still inside it. I remember having to leave a ??100 deposit when I first rented one of these from Blockbuster, thankfully after one rental it was enough to convince me to go buy one for myself.
