I noticed a hilarious coincidence in UK’s unofficial PlayStation mag “PlayStation Plus” lately. Lemme explain.
Like all of “Formula 1 ‘98“’s predecessors, this one was pretty buggy when released to the world. “PlayStation Plus” reviewed it next to the game “Buggy” by Gremlin and showed the gaming world foreshadowing things to come… a buggy “Formula 1 ‘98″ game

At least I find that funny

Nonetheless, the PlayStation 1 Database (not online yet) has this to say about “Formula 1 ‘98″:
When you press “Select” at the main menu then the following is displayed on-screen: “FORMULA ONE – 98 – BETA – 6.3.A – BUILD DATE OCT 12 1998″ – did they really release a beta version???

Just why?

So its been a little quiet around here recently, nothing to be worried about thankfully but its about time we got this ship rolling about in the ocean again.

Its been a funny two weeks here in the UK what with earthquakes, gas explosions, strong winds, and this morning snow, its made me start thinking about things a little more, and I suppose the big scare of Lady Defcon’s has helped me reflect a little. While going back through some old forum posts I saw someone asking ‘why PAL PS1?’.

Well the PAL bit I suppose is obvious, we are European, its our format. But the PS1? Why. Well it got me thinking, and as I was I stumbled across this little beauty…

… and I just thought. Thats why.

Well thats enough of the new age hippy rubbish. Back room stuff is coming along very nicely and I am also in training for Marathon 2 – The Re-run which should be starting very soon. Hopefully we should see some really nice things happening real soon on this site which will be nice. And hopefully we might get a few more people coming in and saying hello on the forums.

And a quick note about Lady Defcon, she is doing fine and is getting better and fitter by the day.

BuckyB recently informed me about a funny eBay auction from a german seller. What first looked like an undiscovered limited edition of Metal Gear Solid turned out to be…

The german seller responded to my enquiry after BuckyB told him the truth:
Ich bin gerade daraufhingewiesen worden dass es sich um eine Chromocard CdH??lle mit aufgeklebten Cover handelt. Da ich das Spiel vor Jahren mal geschenkt bekommen hatte und ich immer davon ausgegangen bin das es sich um eine limitierte Promoausgabe handelt. Scheinbar wurde aber nur das Cover aufgeklebt.
means: I just got informed that it’s actually a ChromoCard sleeve with a MGS cover pasted on it. I got this game as a gift years ago and thought this being a limited promo edition. But it seems the cover was just (amateurishly) pasted to the sleeve.

Here again best wishes to you. It’s damn nice to be part of this great site and I feel very welcomed here. A nice weekend to you and Lady Defcon.
