Unfortunately I have to thank AtariBuff for sending me this game over.

So there we go then, its done at last. No more having to buy off eBay, search through charity shops and……… oh wait, country variants!! Looks like I am gonna still be at this for a while.

Also on to further news, and for those of you not on our forums we have finally released the database online for everyone to use. You can browse through it by clicking on this link or the link in the top menu. It is very early stages at the moment and will be going through a lot of changes over the coming month. If you do find any issues with it you can always discuss them in our forums.

But Defcon, I hear you scream, how is the collection going? Well I have enough stuff to do my biggest marathon of updates ever so closer to the end of the year be on the look out for lots and lots of updates from me. Including some cool joysticks, some nice merchandise and much much more.

Wait a second Defcon, I hear you cry out in anguish, what about the PAL Games Collection? You know your attempt to equal the feats of the one they call Ataribuff, to his face and smellypants behind his back? Well hows this for you?

Four more big ones for the collection bringing the total number needed down to only 10 games!!! Here we have Midway Arcade Greatest Hits 2 (The Midway Collection 2), Tail Concerto, Super Pang Collection, and finally a sealed copy of Time Bokan Yattaman!!

Obviously the first thing you will notice is that everything has changed around here, and it will go on changing for a little while yet as I still have some little things I need to tweak out here and there. However I hav achieved my main goal which was to speed the site up no end.

As you can tell its a lot faster and that is because I got rid of the other forums and we have brand spanking new forums for us to play with. Unfortunatly you will have to register again however AtariBuff has been through the old forums and pulled out all the cool and interesting stuff you guys have posted so nothing has been lost, and in fact its all been digested into a much easier to read passage.

As always when I make big updates to the site I am sure there are a few bugs, if you do find some please give me a shout either through a comment on this post, through the forums or stck your head out the window an dyell real loud, I am sure my dog like hearing will get the message.

Right thats it, I will let you all get settled in before I start filling your world with more wonderous and magical PlayStation 1 pick ups.

Ok the final part of my update today is some news. As our regular readers know I am not happy about the speed of the site recently, well I think I have tracked it down however in order to solve the problem its going to take a big overhaul of the site. Now because of this I am going to be stepping back into the shadows for a little while as I try to get it all sorted out, so what that means is that I will not be throwing up as many updates as I have lately until I get it done. I will continue to update you all on the progress to a complete collection but that will be about it as I ferret around in the back end.

I will still be around to post in the forums and stuff so its not like I am dissappearing, and also it might give AtariBuff a kick up the butt to do some updates as I know he has some great stuff to show you guys. So everyone should hassle him to update, throw a comment on this post and I am sure with enough name calling we can get him to do it.

You will know when I am going to make a comeback on updates as well, as you will see a big change around here. Anyway for now I hope this is enough to keep you going for now. I will see you on the forums and try to get this done as soon as possible.

Tomorrow night the two best teams in England (allegedly), Chelsea and Manchester United fight it out to be crowned Champions of Europe and quite frankly I couldn’t give a toss about it. Football just ain’t my thing but it has been a massive part of the PlayStation 1’s history. From Fifa Soccer 96, through to ISS, and on to Actua Soccer, and the various football management games, the PlayStation 1 has always had a football game somewhere in its top 10 chart. There are countless country variants with different European managers fronting various brands. Seriously the football list goes on and on, and maybe the Stat Machine that is AtariBuff might even be able to provide us with a comprehensive list of football games on the forum.

But from me, a little something to celebrate this triumphant night for English football. First some posters for you….

Yes as you can see we have had a little bit of a face lift, which includes a new name. Yes gone are the days of Defconsoft vs Mint In The Box, the endless banter between AtariBuff and myself. We have decided to throw the towel in on that and put up a joint front in all things PAL PlayStation.

And that is where the Collective comes in, because together we can be a much better and educated resource. Also you have to add the knowledge of Bucky B into the mix as well, who is, along with Lady Defcon, an invaluable asset to the site.

And finally there is you guys as well, which is where the Collective really comes in. This is a site for everyone and all to have input in.

In the coming days and weeks we will be adding tonnes of new stuff, including another set of marathon updates from me, a small joint venture by AtariBuff and I, and hopefully the long awaited PAL PlayStation Online Database.

We also have something exciting coming from Lady Defcon herself that will hopefully get everyone involved in site in some way which is great news.

Well after a bit of a fight I can happily say that the site is now upgraded, along with the plugins we use, which includes the forum plug in.

So now you have the ability to message each other, and I am working hard on getting image uploading added in as well. It looks a little bit of a mess at the moment but I will work on that throughout the next couple of days etc.

I can also start polls, one of which is already in the forums, however you might want to hold off on it until I manage to get it looking pretty. There are also a load more updates in there as well that I am sure you guys will find ways to break

Its been a funny two weeks here in the UK what with earthquakes, gas explosions, strong winds, and this morning snow, its made me start thinking about things a little more, and I suppose the big scare of Lady Defcon’s has helped me reflect a little. While going back through some old forum posts I saw someone asking ‘why PAL PS1?’.

Well the PAL bit I suppose is obvious, we are European, its our format. But the PS1? Why. Well it got me thinking, and as I was I stumbled across this little beauty…

… and I just thought. Thats why.

Well thats enough of the new age hippy rubbish. Back room stuff is coming along very nicely and I am also in training for Marathon 2 – The Re-run which should be starting very soon. Hopefully we should see some really nice things happening real soon on this site which will be nice. And hopefully we might get a few more people coming in and saying hello on the forums.

And a quick note about Lady Defcon, she is doing fine and is getting better and fitter by the day.

Just a quick update to tell you that we are not all still recovering from our New Years Hangovers (although I don’t think AtariBuff has actually stopped yet) and that we are still alive.

There is a lot of stuff going on behind the scenes at the moment with regards to various projects to do with the site. BuckyB is working on some great stuff that we hope to be able to show as soon as we can. And I have some stuff in the pipeline as well. So please do not be disheartened by the lack of updates from us. Good things are coming.

I will try and throw up some new stuff this weekend if I get a chance, as I have a few goodies in my possession that I still have to throw up on the site. For now please keep posting on the forums, we love to read everything that is posted up there.
