Combo Packs (a game with a CD-storage wallet; see below example picture) come in two different types:

a) Packaged in a dedicated cardboard box with all that nice and shiny graphics and stuff

b) Packaged in see-through blister

Problem with blister releases is: The come usually with a regular black CD-storage wallet with the PlayStation logo on it and you can open AND close the blister package without problem. So, to put it straight: you can put whatever game you want in there and, voila, you have a NEW Combo Pack release.

To prevent fellow and future collectors and investment in limited editions in general, Defcon, BuckyB and I decided to give you collectors some guidelines:

We acknowledge the following blistered Combo Packs:

Bust-A-Groove

Cool Boarders III

Crash Team Racing

Formula 1 ‘99

Hercules, Action Game Featuring

Libero Grande

MediEvil

Spyro 2 (has a dedicated CD-storage wallet with Spyro on it)

because two seperate copies were individually discovered and they are from legit sellers (like known sources) AND it’s origin can be traced (legit sellers again).

Now this Combo Pack with Platinum Mickey may be legit (Hercules also has a Platinum release included) but before we accept it, we wait for a second copy to show up.

I think the way we handle it is is just fair to all collectors and to protect your investments when discovering some of these Combo Packs. [Image Removed by User]

That Mickey release is also lacking other features of a Blister Pack Combo. If you look at the CD Storage wallet it does not seem to be enclosed int he cardboard sleeve. This makes me already think that it has been opened at some time. You can see the cardboard sleeve I am talking about below

I have a 007 CD wallet. I'm not sure if it's the same Defcon talks about. But if you really want to know that one came for free with a UK magazine I used to buy when I was about 14 or so called Playstation Power.

I have to search the PS1 PAL database for the info, but nearly all of in my first posting mentioned blistered Combo Packs were listed in a German PlayStation magazine which proves them being legit.

Funny, that multiple copies of Bust-A-Groove and Libero Grande have only been found in Italy so far (and it also weren't listed in the German mag). Formula 1 also is French (also NOT listed in the mag).

So far, we have the above stated eight legit blistered Combo-Packs; Mickey never showed up and until two of them are discovered they simply don't exist here ;)

The 007 riddle could also be solved when reading Saturn's above statement.
