Sorry if it’s a dumb question, but are the games in the Pocket Price range releases, like Platinum games (like this one for instance)?

The only dumb question is the one that isn’t asked. Besides, I think many people are baffled by that Pocket Price stuff.
The pocket-price games are original releases, not re-releases. (Ofcourse, there is the odd exception of Mary King’s Riding star, which was actually released as “Non-Pocket Price”.)
Your linked example is a re-release however! Not because it’s a Pocket Price, but because of the “Value series” ribbon. This would be a better example.

Thanks Bucky, especially for the philosophy! Is there any chance some one can post a guide to re-releases for in-experienced collector like myself? I know of Value Series and Platinum, but are there any others?

Alex,
a few games carry the yellow “VALUE” ribbon AND also are marked “Classics” for example. We stumbled over these re-releases whilst working on the database and marked them as seperate re-releases.
Your re-release list looks pretty accurate.

Eidos classic
eXclusive
Cartoon favourites
Premier
Legendes Collection
Play-it (some, not all!)
Phoenix “Red label” (for lack of a better name)
If unsure, just check “All PAL games” on the right, all the (now Hi-Q!) covers in there are ‘first edition’ (or at least ‘best available’ in some cases.)
