You know, the black border at the bottom of the games. Why did they add it? To make sure no one could ever mistake a PlayStation-game for anything else? :)

Also, did they remove it in 1997? Some games from that year have those borders, some don’t.

I’m sure they added the border with the “PlayStation” text for marketing reasons (recognising product on the shelves) - funnily, each region (NTSC and NTSC-J and PAL) had it’s own corporate identity design. I like the NTSC design the least and find japanese covers simply the coolest (and strangest ;) ).

yes, 1997 supposedly was the time when Sony marketing ordered a unique corporate identity design for them games.
