I have here 3 “Duke Nukem” games, all of them are SLES 00903, english covers with spinecode 8001019. So, basically, they’re identical games.

Two of them have a sticker on the back of the jewelcase, over the barcode. The print on the sticker is … the same barcode?! The stickers are not the same size, and they do not use the same font, so they seem to come from different sources.
The third game is sealed, and it does not have the sticker.

The best thing I can come up with, is that the lines for the printed barcode are bad, and the game wouldn’t scan right in the shops. To confirm that, I would need to check the lines. Before I start doing that, and hurt my eyes in the process, does anyone have any idea what’s going one here?
