I think I upgraded my math skills to level 2 now.
Can’t you change the forum so that members that have posted a certain number of posts, don’t need to do the brain-crackers anymore?

Or in other words…. The maths question is either on or off, i have no control of levels of security I am afraid.
And judging by the fact that my email linked to this site has already received 100 emails today I know we are getting hit by spambots all over (one of the downsides of having a site that people actually visit). So I would rather not turn it off as otherwise we get lots of posts like the one above.
I know AtariBuff can vouch for me on this as he has seen the spam comments we have to filter out, last count we had 825 spam comments alone.
I know its not perfect but hey at least I am making you work your brains a little.
(If I do find a way to sort it however I will try my best)

Uh, tell me about the spam-problem, in fact, not only do I receive many spams, but there have been many spam-runs with one of my domains as the reply-to. So I got the bounced mails and complaints…

I might be able to do it by adding the math question to user registrations instead of posts. As the forum only allows registered user posting this should stop it.
Of course it means upgrading the forum software. So hang on to your hats boys and girls this may be messy.

Actually the new version is still only beta, and with a new version of Wordpress out today I will give it a little while for others to try it an iron out the bugs before I upgrade.
FYI I got the question wrong for this post so I still need the practise.

Ok Wordpress 2.3 is now out. I am going to run it on my local version tonight to see if it breaks anything and fix it before I throw it up live. But what this means is that not only will the main site have some new features for me and AtariBuff to play with but I can also update the gallery software and forum software to newer versions which may fix some of the problems we are having with the site.
Of course I will throw out a warning before I do anything major so you all know what to expect and how long the downtime might be.

Yep its the reason I have been so quiet recently, testing it all still and having to do some hacks errrr I mean coding to get it working.
Am looking at this weekend to throw it up on the main site.

That would be the case if it was just the plug ins to update. However the core program (Wordpress) has been updated quite a bit recently so there is no telling what can happen. Also the plug ins need to be slightly updated because of the new code so I have to wait for the original authors to find all the problems and sort them out.
It doesn’t happen like this that often, I just want to make sure i don’t shag the site up at all.

Gallery update done!!!!
Be on the look out for bugs, if you see any let me know. I already know of 1 at least so am off to fix that.
Forum upgrade on tuesday. (no more maths hopefully)
