@Alex
I bought two PlayStation 1 games like 4 weeks ago, which I paid but never received. Seller was Kaptenkrok on Tradera. He is an international seller but doesn’t seem to speak more then 10 english words which makes communication with him difficult. Would you be so kind and ask him about the whereabouts of the games? My eBay nick is corinthian68.
Thanks :)

Yeah, sure. I’ll send a mail. I hope it gets a response soon though, I’m going on a one week trip tomorrow night.

There seems to be a little movement in this matter after two months of silence - I keep you posted.

Every time I have a problem with an eBay seller nowadays, payment had to be done by bank transfer so that one can’t simply transfer the money back. Do some of the sellers offer their goods with fraudulent intent???
That’s one of the good reasons to use PayPal and open a bad trader claim when a seller ships the item
a) incomplete (missing manual)
b) a re-release or
c) another issue (PS1 game in regular CD case with cut covers,…)

eBay was fun years ago. Nowadays it’s more of a gamble when you open the package to see what’s really in there…

I have one problem. I accidently found one interesting item on ebay and the next day there was a user named Corinthian bidding on it. Okay, hurts a little but I will let this one go. Then I accidently found a seller with plenty of interesting things, mostly final fantasy related and he also had one thing I wanted to buy for a while now. But when I saw the item, there was this Corinthian guy placing his bid already. Too much of a coincidence? What shall I do now? XD

so,
after some pretty nice sellers and smooth transactions, it seems that I need to get my butt kicked once in a while.
Bought a PS1 game for Eur 1.99 (hey, it’s a EA FIFA game) but seller decided that’s too low and wants Eur 18 for (uninsured!) shipping.

The expenses isn’t only the postage, principally is the manipulation, the packaging, the displacements to post office, etc… I am not a professional courier and that is a inconvenience.
Regards,
Angel.

Not my favourite angel if you ask me. Decided to reduce by Eur 3 so we are still at Eur 15,–.

So, my question to you guys:
- Should I use the newly given power of eBay buyers and simply don’t do the transaction and even don’t receive a negative?

or

- Should I pay because I haven’t asked before bidding how much shipping will be to my place and be the greatest idiot for accepting postage fraud?

I say pay for the item, if you want it, then neg the hell out of them when you get it saying that postage rates are stupid. That is what this new feedback is about, allowing buyers to really say what they want.

I have a german guy that I bought a Yaroze controller off for 1 euro 50 and he wont even send me an invoice with postage on, looks like I wont be getting it so he will get negged to hell in a handcart:)

Personally I wouldn’t pay for the game =/. 16.99 is kinda expensive for a fifa game and that price for uninsured postage is totaly stupid.

If you really want the game, then pay. But neg the hell outta him. 15 euros for postage is insane, but it is true some sellers ask that much. I had the same problem, but I wanted the items and they ended cheap. So, I just paid and shut my mouth. I do not forgive when I pay so much and the item comes baddly packed.

Yes totally agree, some sellers are morons,To sellers who moan about selling their items to cheap.I suggest to them that if they believe it is worth more, then start your bidding at that price,i bid in good faith so stop your moaning & please read my email carefully & you might note that i have a address that i can post to in your country.Im lucky in the fact that i work for a company that exports & imports so if i run into a seller that wants stupid money to post a item,i will ship it to one of our headquarters in their country,as im always willing to pay the stated shipping cost on ebay.
On the packing note, yes some take pride others dont.Others have a sense of humour. The best yet is a guy that wrapped 1 game in glad wrap.He must of used a whole roll,it took me some time to extract the game.
On the pay front i only use paypal.Bank transfers are way to dear as are money orders.
But to be fair in my experience most sellers are happy to post overseas for a fair price.

This guy deserves negative, clearly, but as a regular seller now (oh it hurts to see them all go…!), I think the new feed back system is an absolute disgrace. I got negged for not posting a game when the dumbass hasn’t even paid. Why the hell can’t I neg him? I’ve raised an unpaid claim and his feed back will be removed, but there will be no record on his feed back of what a twat he is.

The trouble with this new system is that negative feed back is devalued. It is being left for the most spurious reasons, and really deserved negatives like the one Atari wants to leave will lose their impact.

Hmm, four games from France arrived today and postal services from France and/or Austria decided to revive the UEFA Euro 2008 Soccer Championship and play ball with my package.

Conclusio:  3 precious jewelcases smashed and beyond useability. At least the front covers, manuals and CDs were not harmed.

Not exactly an eBay problem as the games were packaged nicely but someone just didn't want me to enjoy them.

I wonder which country won!?! Foot in mouth
