I have a question which I hope you experts could answer for me. I was told that these Limited Edition boxes for example the MGS boxset, when they were NEW, the game inside is also factory sealed. Can someone confirm this?

I have seen two MGS boxset on UK in the past year advertised as brand new/never used, all the accessories are sealed but the game is not so I can't be sure if the seller were being honest.

Thanks alot in advance.

FatCStar,

first of all, each and every PAL game release should have some seal when it came to the stores, be it with the Sony seal or shrinkwrapped for double-size jewel cases. I have to check on the three Telegames direct releases when I come home tonight but I'm sure these were also sealed.

Personally I have never come across a 'new' MGS LE in which the game itself was still sealed in some way or the other.

I also have never seen the silvergrey LE box itself wrapped up in cellophane or any other packaging material. Can anyone shed some light on this?

However, Bucky and me discovered some Limited Edition releases which were offered by the sellers as new/never opened/never played and the games itself had NO seal whatsoever.

This leads me to the following question/conclusio before I check a few LE tonight when home:
Could it be that publishers put unsealed games into some Limited Edition releases because the LE box itself was sealed/blistered in some form?

Further investigation needed Cool

MGS LE Sealed in blister. I believe I have seen one before but cannot be 100% sure.

Also as for sealed games, in the UK at least shops like Game, Electronic Boutique, used the cases for display and kept the discs, instructions etc behind the counter. Therefore brand new never played games do not nessecarily need to be sealed.

And tbh I dont think every PAL release would of been sealed, trying to remember my days of PS1 developement but I cannot rememebr whether our copies came sealed or not.

Ok, none of the three exclusive Telegames releases which I also purchased through them is sealed!

My Ape Escape Limited Editions have sealed games inside but the LE cardboard boxes were not wrapped/sealed

We also have a department chain here where the game CDs and manuals are stored at the cash desk to prevent theft. I don't buy there.

Thanks for the answers guys! I doubt the cardboard boxes were sealed but I am still trying to figure out with the game itself was. I have been tracking these MGS limited edition boxsets on Ebay. In the last two months, I have seen two that were advertised as new/never used but both games were not sealed. I also consulted a collector which has the FFVIII limited edition and he told me it is new but the game is not sealed either. I can't be sure if the sellers were telling the truth but I have yet to find a these two LE sets with the game factory sealed inside.
