Resident Evil 1.5 Prototype

October 26, 2007 | In Defcon |

The PlayStation Museum has managed to get their grubby little dual shock grabbing hands on a copy of Resident Evil 1.5 (a Resident Evil 2 prototype). Here is a little description from the Museum themselves.

It was bound to happen….it was only a matter of time. Nearly 11 years ago one of the biggest tragedies in PlayStation history happened…Resident Evil 2 was fully scrapped and re-designed. The Resident Evil 2 Prototype (also referred to as RE 1.5) was put to rest and although highly sought after, it was assumed lost.

The game looks great and its a shame that it did get re-designed to what we now know as Resident Evil 2, but if you head on over to their site you can see some screenshots and even video from the prototype.

Resident Evil 2 Prototype (aka Resident Evil 1.5)

Stuff never gets lost, it all turns up someday. Great find! Please note that we are talking of the Japanese (NTSC-J) version of the game!
